Detailed Content
The way the Project Manager communicates with their team, partners, and other stakeholders plays a significant role in determining the outcomes of a Built Environment project. This course covers the reasons why communicating effectively is vital to project success. It also explains how to foster effective communication by establishing robust governance and adopting the key communication tools currently available in the Built Environment Industry.
Understand best practices to implement throughout the contract lifecycle and how to prioritize project risks to ensure that high impact risks are managed effectively. In the Built Environment, the contract process is often completed in silos, which can lead to a lack of mutual understanding of the different contract clauses and result in several issues. In this course, you will learn how to manage these issues by establishing the right strategy to implement best practices across the entire contract lifecycle. You will also understand how to classify, prioritize, and manage risks in Built Environment projects in order to minimize or avoid claims and disputes from occurring.
Defining Project Scope and managing it effectively is vital to ensure the success of a Built Environment project. In the industry, a change order has a significant impact on project scope, so managing it productively is a key part of this process. This course covers the tools and techniques available to support scope development, and how to control the scope and manage change orders to ensure successful delivery of a Built Environment project. You will also learn to take control of scope creep and effectively manage change orders in large engineering and construction projects.
Interface Management (IM) is integral to project success and has emerged as an independent discipline in the delivery of Built Environment projects and megaprojects. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of Interface Management and how to use it to address challenges and minimize risks in Built Environment projects. You will also learn how to manage IM effectively throughout the project lifecycle. The course discusses the tools and processes available to enhance Interface Management, and the skills required to implement them successfully for improved communication, coordination, and stakeholder alignment.
